A lightweight refractory material processed from high purity alumina-silica fibers. Ideal for use as a smooth separator when fusing glass on a flat shelf. Designs can be cut out of thicker fiber paper and used to fuse glass over it, creating relief patterns. Withstands temperatures up to 2300 farenheit (982 celsius). Does not contain asbestos.
KILN VENTING IS NECESSARY. These refractory fiber papers transform to cristobalite, a form of crystalline silica which may cause lung injury when heated above 1800 farenheit (982 celsius). An approved respiratory mask is recommended.
